Resurfacing a tub is more than just putting two coats of paint over your old tub. Resurfacing is more than just painting; it is all about adhesion. Every little detail matters. We go through what feels like a thousand little details to make sure your tub does NOT look painted but looks new again.
Professional tub resurfacing starts with repairs. Michael’s Resurfacing will repair any rust, chips, or cracks in your tub. Second, we will thoroughly clean your tub to remove any soap or oil residue and remove the old silicone or calking. Once your tub has been properly repaired, we apply our bonding agent. The bonding agent allows our coatings to chemically bond to your tub. Now your tub is ready to be transformed into a tub that will look like new. Our resurfacing technicians apply two coats of primer followed by three coats topcoat and allow everything to cure out overnight.
This is where most refinishers stop. Michael’s Resurfacing does not. We provide that last level of professionalism and detail and return the next morning to detail and polish your tub. This ensures your tub or fixture looks and feels like new. Our unmatched quality and attention to detail is what makes Michael’s Resurfacing a step above the rest.

Our unique repair process allows us to repair chips and cracks in bathtubs, showers, sinks, and countertops. Using specially formulated resins that adheres to and strengthens the original surface, we are able to fill chips and seal cracks Filling and sanding the repair is only the beginning. What makes Michael’s Resurfacing stand out from everyone else is our ability to make the repair disappear. We can do the necessary repairs and refinish the entire fixture or we can do a spot repair, color match into the color of the fixture and airbrush in the repair making it virtually disappear.
We can repair and resurface leaking shower pans in one of two ways. For smaller cracks and hairline fractures, we place a revolutionary water-resistant seal on top of the existing surface. This seal fills in any cracks or fractures that are or may potentially cause leaking. The seal also creates a smooth, solid surface that is highly resistant to future cracking.
When larger cracks or structural damage is an issue, we use a more intense shower pan resurfacing method known as a “full-bottom rebuild.” As the name suggests, we basically rebuild the bottom of your bathtub or shower using fiberglass mesh and resin to create a stronger surface. Once the new bottom has been added, we leave a seamless repair by resurfacing over the top of it.
Both repairs require resurfacing to cover and seal the work against water and make the repair aesthetically pleasing.
If the” do it you self” refinishing kit that is on your tub is experiencing catastrophic adhesion failure, call Michael’s Resurfacing. We are more than happy to fix the damage and provide you with the quality you deserve. We have found that the most common cause for failed resurfacing is improper adhesion, which can result from numerous factors. Therefore, we use our proprietary bonding system accompanied with a thorough preparation process to ensure a lasting hold.
If a fixture has been previously resurfaced by a different company or with a “do it yourself” kit, it may be necessary to remove their product to ensure proper adhesion. By removing the old product, we ensure that our new coating remains strong and intact for years to come. Once the original surface is uncovered, we properly adhere the new coating for years of easy care.
